Table V

This table is not explicitly required for complete certification. However, this table allows Commanders the opportunity to put their Soldiers through a more intensive course of fire before shooting Table VI, the actual qualification table. This table allows significant modification by Range OICs, Master Gunners and Commanders so as to provide a tailored, unit-level approach to marksmanship training.

The Table V Task, Conditions and Standard are listed below

The training and design template for Table V is as follows:

As a forcing function for shooters to change magazines and deal with malfunctions, during table V shooters will intentionally load one round of AB46, a ‘dummy drill intert cartridge’. ALternatively, units may use expended cartridges in place of this DODIC. Blank ammo is not authorized on live fire ranges.

As firers execute Table V, they will be presented targets in single and multiple target arrays. Single targets are exposed for three seconds, double targets are exposed for five seconds, triple targets are exposed for 12 seconds and quadruple targets are exposed for 16 seconds. There is a two second delay between each engagement, along with an eight second transition delay between each position (prone unsupported, prone supported, kneeling supported, etc) which allows the firer time to conduct emergency reloads and to get into the next position. The table below lists the target type, by engagement, by distance and by exposure time.

Taken together, this firing schedule can be shot quickly. An example throughput schedule can be found below:
