This training circular (TC) describes the Army’s Integrated Weapons Training Strategy, broadly discussing what training and qualification looks like from the individual marksman to Battalion and Brigade level units.

This TC dives into detail regarding the training of individual weapons and shooters. Rifle and Carbine make up only a section of this document, which also includes automatic rifle, Sniper, shoulder fired munitions, and pistol qualification pipelines and standards.

This TC outlines everything a Soldier needs to know regarding rifles, optics, zeroing, and perfecting shooting precision and accuracy in a myriad of conditions and environments.

DA PAM 350-38 provides commanders with the training strategies for individual, crew, and collective weapons training and identifies the resources required to execute that training.

This is an issue of Infantry Magazine from March 2020 which discusses the Army’s shift towards the IWTS and explains some concepts in greater detail.

This form can be used to record Soldier’s completion of Tables I and III.

This form can be used to record Soldier’s completion of Tables II, V and VI.

This form can be used to score and validate individual weapons qualification. For detailed information on how to fill out this scorecard, please reference TC 3-20.40, page B-15.

This is an Excel doc I created to easily calculate the ammo required to shoot Tables IV – VI. Simply enter the number of shooters and you’ll receive immediate feedback on the amount of ammo required by DODIC for each Table.
I also created a mortar version of this calculator; you can find that on my mortar IWTS site, located here.

This form is a standard Army range card, used to record data on targets for all direct fire weapons. In practice, this would be used for tables V and VI. See below for an example.
